BAE Systems needed to house several pieces of special electronics equipment within a mobile command center for a radar tracking unit to be used in field operations. Their specific requirements included the following:

  • Stand alone EIA rack cabinet
  • 19 inch EIA rack mounted equipment
  • Custom powder coat paint for all modular units
  • New, common leg tables to support equipment turrets
  • Shock mount feet to protect the sensitive electronics equipment
  • Stubby (decreased depth) work surfaces to minimize command center furniture footprint

To minimize weight and optimize operator leg room for this mobile command center, we created a unique common rear leg design to join a standard 26-inch-wide unit with a 48-inch-wide unit.

Equipment riser shelf turrets with EIA rack front panels were added to the worksurfaces, housing the rack-mounted radar tracking monitors as illustrated. Shock-mounted feet protect the installed equipment.
